Negima!? Mahora Characters

MAHORA TEACHERS
TAKAMICHI T. TAKAHATA  高畑・T・タカミチ

Commonly known as Takahata-sensei, is the teacher Negi replaces at Mahora Middle School. This is not to say that he is not in the school, however - he has appeared several times throughout, though he has become the new art teacher for the time being. Takahata gave Asuna her bell hair decorations when she transferred into Mahora Academy. It should be noted that Takahata-sensei is close friends with Negi, and fought in the magic war, alongside Eishun Konoe and the Thousand Master as a member of Ala Rubra. Like Nagi, Takahata is a magic school dropout, but in his case not for lack of studying but for an inability to perform incantations. To make up for this he trained in a special fighting style called "kankahō" that combines both Eastern ki and Western magic, and a bare-fist version of iaidō, "iaiken". Gatō Kagura Vandenburg, one of Nagi’s comrades, whom Takahata regarded as his master, taught both the kanka and iaiken techniques to him.
Takahata was not one of the original members of Nagi's group as he actually joins after they became famous. Due to his membership in Nagi's group, Takahata is extremely famous and respected among the Magic community. He is also noted among the Mahora student body for his ability to put a stop to any fight seemingly without lifting a finger (see his iaiken technique), earning him the nickname "Death Glasses Takahata". He and Shizuna have been suspected of dating, but it was found that his heart does not belong to any person as of yet. He was shown along with Gandofini and Seruhiko after Negi had been arrested. Gandofini seemed to assign Takahata to punish Negi by turning him into an ermine. However, when they were alone, Takahata told Negi that he believed in him, and entrusted him that after being rescued by his companions, they would go back in time to stop Chao. During the third day of the school festival, he fought against Chao Lingshen by himself and was managing to hold his own until she used her time displacement and hit him with a couple of her special bullets sending him 3 hours into the future.
He reappears in chapter 273 to help Negi fight Kurt Godel and taunts kurt because he got showed up by kids. Later, he along with kurt who he fought into submission contact negi and ask for ala alba's help in dealing with the crisis of the magical world. He convices kurt to believe in negi and his friends as they charge into gravekeeper's palace. He begins to eliminate demons quickly and by himself until more backup arrives so he can head into gravekeeper's palace and aid negi.
He later appears with Kurt to aid to fight when Evangeline and others show up in the magic world to help negi after his battle with fate.

Abilities

In order to make up to his inability to perform incantations, Takahata is trained in special fighting styles taught to him by one of Nagi's comrade, Gato Kagura Vandenburg, which he regards as his master.

Kankaho- A technique that combines Eastern ki and Western magic. Takahata uses his right arm to concentrate ki and his left arm for magic power. Certainly, one to two meters is required to gain initial speed. Along with the huge attacks, Takahata is left wide open and his preparations turns sluggish. Yet, when used with Takahata's invisible punches, these weaknesses are eliminated.

Iaiken- Bare fist version of iaido (iai pulling of the sword). Takahata uses his pockets in replacement for scabbard (apparently the reason why he has his hands inside his pocket at stance), and carries out punches faster than the eye can see. The downside is Takahata can't use punches in close combat. Using barrages of iaiken at long range, he can compensate for the weaknesses of his fighting style.
Muonken (Silent Fist): First used in chapter 273.

Shichijou Taisou: Seven Streak Great Lance Silent Fist ,  First used in chapter 305.

Senjou Senzoku: Thousand Streak Glearring Arrows Silent Fist , First used in chaper 305.

TAKAMICHI In Other Media

Negima!?
Unlike his manga counterpart, Takahata-sensei does have magical abilities in this series and is seen as the main assistant for Negi. However, he is usually seen on the sidelines alongside Evangeline and Chachamaru, particularly either in drinking tea or eating ramen.

SHIZUNA MINAMOTO  源 しずな
Mahora's guidance counselor and nurse. She is also Negi's advisor while he's teaching at Mahora, which slowly leads him into different aspects about his job. She is also Negi's motherly figure while he is at Mahora.

Part In The Story

Shizuna doesn't have that large of role in the series. Negi is in the office and when the Headmaster tells Negi to do his best Negi says he will and turns around to go off to his class, but ends up headfirst inbetween Shizuna's large breasts. Shizuna doesn't seem to care and the Headmaster introduces her saying she will be Negi's advisor. Shizuna is the one to give Negi the class roster. She also gives Negi his challenge from the Headmaster, to make sure 2A does not come in last place during the 2nd Term Exam. Kyoto Arc she is one of the teachers who go to Kyoto with the other teachers and the students. At the end of the Kyoto Arc she sees Negi leaning on Asuna's shoulder while they both are asleep and comments that Negi and Asuna are," A Cute Couple". Later in the Mahora Festival Arc She is having coffee with Takahata when Asuna sees them and thinking that they are dating runs off crying. In the middle of the Mahora Festival Arc and the Magic World Arc Shizuna, Negi, Anya, Asuna, and some of the other students of Class 3/A are at a swimming pool. Negi accidently runs into her breasts in the swimming pool again, but she just laughs it off. Anya sees this and gets jealous so she causes hers and Nodoka's breasts to grow larger until they blow up.
Much later, Asuna makes a comment to Takahata that she will, 100 years from now, get her hands on his grandson and that he better get married and that she "won't let you(Takahata) let Shizuna-Sensei get away." This could mean that either she still believes the two of them are an item or she knows the truth. Takahata does not deny this.

OTHER STUDENTS
INUGAMI KOTAROU 犬上 小太郎
A fictional character from the manga series Negima!: Magister Negi Magi, created by Ken Akamatsu. He is a half-demon first seen as one of the three mercenary children helping Chigusa in Kyoto. While he is also the only supporting character who does not appear in either of the first two anime series, he does however appear in the OVAs Mahō Sensei Negima! : Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba and Mō Hitotsu no Sekai Another World.
Background & Personality
Kotaro is a wolf Hanyō, evidenced by his pointed ears and furry tail. Despite being hotheaded, Kotaro is a chivalrous person and would never hit a woman unless she was a truly powerful fighter - and even then is so uncomfortable about the idea he never uses his full strength. He has a strong dislike of Western-style magic, with Negi being one of the few exceptions.
Kotaro has a very lonely past, because being a hanyō has made him, from birth, an outcast of both human and dog-yōkai tribes. This makes him value both his friendship with Negi, and living with Chizuru and Natsumi, as they become the only true friends or family he's ever had.
Though he is clearly not very "book smart" (unlike Negi) he is quite "street smart" and often understands/catches on to the things that Negi does not.
In Chapter 261 it's been revealed that after his match with Rakan he has an interest in becoming a Magister Magi.

Synopsis

He was used by Chigusa to try to prevent Negi and Asuna from delivering a letter to the head of the Kansai Magic Association. To do this, he trapped Negi and Asuna inside a dimensional loop, but was defeated by Negi, with unexpected help from Nodoka, who had followed Negi and, via her Pactio item, found out about the fight between the two, and was trapped in his own loop. That night, he intercepted Negi again as he tried to stop Chigusa's summoning ritual, demanding a rematch. This was interrupted by Kaede, who fought and defeated Kotaro while Negi continued on (although Kaede realized that Kotaro wasn't giving his best then).
After the Kyoto Arc, he was placed under the custody of the Kansai Magic Association, where his abilities to transform and summon dog spirits were sealed. During this time, Fate approached him again, offering to free Kotaro if he would assasinate Negi. Kotaro refused, and later escaped on his own to find Negi to have another rematch (he considered Negi a rival, being the only person he's met of his own age who can fight with him on even terms). When he arrived at Mahora, he ran into Graf Hermann and The Slime Sisters, and learned their plan to attack Negi. He fought them, stole the bottle that Graf Hermann had been released from, and escaped. However, in an attempt to warn Negi, he was injured and hit with a confusion spell, causing temporarily amnesia. Chizuru Naba and Natsumi Murakami, two of Negi's students, found him and nursed him back to health, thinking he was just a stray dog.
Graf Hermann tracked Kotaro to their dorm room, and attacked him in an attempt to retrieve the bottle, kidnapping Chizuru after she saved Kotaro from being petrified. Kotaro joined Negi in defeating Graf Hermann in order to rescue her and the other girls taken by the demon. For helping Negi battle against Graf Hermann and the Slime Sisters, he was pardoned and his powers restored. Kotaro decided to transfer to the Elementary school at Mahora Academy in order to hang around with Negi, whom he had befriended after the battle, and Kaede. He currently lives with Chizuru, Natsumi, and Ayaka Yukihiro in their dorm room, at the former's insistence, under the identity of Kotarō Murakami, Natsumi's younger brother.
Chizuru's maternal attitude to Kotaro (such as her hugging him to her well-endowed chest in public) frequently embarrasses him. He also regularly chastises Negi for being "involved" with so many girls, only to have his relationship with Chizuru thrown in his face (it's a little unclear whether this is because he has a crush on her or whether it's just simple embarrassment). While Kotaro likes to think of himself as a "lone wolf", Negi teased him by saying "You're more like a dog." His views also seem to draw him into arguments with Yue, which he usually loses. He also holds Kaede in high regard, due to her strength. Though since he refuses to use his full strength against women, it is unknown who is the stronger fighter
At the Mahora Legendary Martial Arts Tournament he quickly defeated Mei Sakura in the first round, but was annihilated in the second by Albireo. This lopsided defeat causes him to question his ability as a warrior, and he fears that Negi will no longer acknowledge him. Kaede approaches him and offers him to train with her after everything has settled, and he awkwardly makes up with Negi in succeeding chapters. He spends a little time with Negi, Chisame, and Chachamaru when Negi goes to see Ako and the Cheerleaders' concert, and in the process learns a little more about how to treat girls than he ever wanted to. He seems to be somewhat over-protective of Natsumi.
Like Negi, Kotaro has a somewhat limited view about the world in general, and he is more or less ignorant when it comes to the emotions of girls, although when artificially aged into a handsome teenager, he seems pleased when one of them finds him attractive. His stance on becoming the strongest only in combat leaves him unprepared for things that do not involve fighting.
Kotaro did not appear after Chao had succeeded in revealing magic to the world. After the time jump back to the final day of the festival, Kotaro appeared to help Negi while fighting his way to Chao's airship. After the festival, he was brought in by Evangeline as a sparring partner for Negi's next level of training. He accompanies Negi overseas to search for his father. He was temporarily knocked out by one of Fate's accomplices in the attack on the gateway, but was revived by Anya, and quickly rejoined the fight. After the destruction of the portal platform, he was transported to a jungle far from the gateport, but managed to find Negi, Chisame, and Chachamaru again on his own. After helping Negi get over a fever, he and the group must evade bounty hunters who are after them under a false charge of destroying the Gateport.
To avoid recognition, he and Negi use the Red Age Deceiving Pills to assume their teenage forms again. He has recently discovered that his "sister" Natsumi is lost in the Magic World as well, and he and Negi enter a tournament in order to save her, Ako, and Akira from slavery. He does not join Negi on his journey to Rakan preferring instead to become stronger through tournament battles. Later he has rejoined Negi at the grand tournament at Ostia. When Fate confronted Negi Kotaro rushed off to help. Chisame, Nodoka and Haruna have gotten themselves in trouble with one of Fate's companions and Kotarou arrives in time for the rescue. He then brings Nodoka to the site of Negi and Fate's confrontation so that way she can use her abilities to find out Fate's real name. During the confrontation, Kotaro was partially petrified as he protected Nodoka from Fate's attacks. However, he was easily healed by Konoka after she and Rakan arrived at the scene.
He started to traning with Negi with the help of Theodora, Seras, Ricardo and "the fake" Eva to beat Rakan in the tournament. He has also made a pactio with Natsumi under Haruna's persuasion, despite originally thinking the idea was "creepy." There was reluctance from both parties, but when Kotaro admitted he loved Natsumi, the two finally become partners. Natsumi admitted she had feelings for Kotarou as well, but she ran away before he could understand what she said. When Fate attacked the Governor's Ball, he and Natsumi witness the death of Chief, who watched over Natsumi, Ako, and Akira while they were slaves.
Kotaro, along with Natsumi, Yue, and others, are on a mission to rescue Anya and Asuna from the Gravekeeper's palace. When they encounter Fate, Kotaro believes he has the opportunity to finally defeat him out of revenge. However, Kotarou realizes the power difference between Fate and him, and decides not to attack -- believing that provoking Fate would only result in a quick death. When negi gets taken over by the darkness and is unable to move as well as turn to stone as a result everyone else comes up with a new plan to take out fate and get asuna back. This plan somewhat succeds as they did get asuna back even if only temporairly and fate seemed to have been defeated by chachamaru's artifact but survived the attack and quickly attacked them. Kotaro battled fate as a means of stalling and allowing the others to escape but was defeated. He was found by Kaede later. After saving the world they went back to Mahora. The trio went on a date with the cheerleader from class 2A ,after they met. They went to the karaoke place to sing. While everyone was having a good time mean while Madoka went to the bathroom, she was thinking how Kotaro was still acting like a child. She bumps into two thugs in the hallway ,after that Kotaro rescues her from the thugs, and she realizes she has fallen in love with Kotaro.

Powers & Abilities
Kotaro is trained under the Garyū Inugami-ryū which is basically a self-taught school. Kotaro is an expert in ninjutsu and charms, and has the power to summon wolf/inugami (dog spirits), which he can use as a ranged attack, to restrain foes, or to fly by forming them into wheels on his feet. But he must be careful as to use them, as sometimes they may come back right back at himself rather than his target. He prefers to fight hand to hand rather than using magic from a distance. Kotaro also has the ability to transform into a small black and white dog using a paper charm, or to a stronger part/half/full beast form. He claim that most of his fighting technique (including the use of ki power) was made up by himself. His capability to correctly analyze Negi's technique supports his ability to achieve such a task. He can transform into a Humaniod Beast Form and a full beast form in which he takes the apperance of a black wolf, which he calls "Kuon Eisou" which isn't any actual words but is made of the kanji for "dog", "sound","shadow" and "attire". He also has limited powers of shadows as he was able to move between shadows to save Haruna, Nodaka and Chisame and escape with them as shown in chapter 227. The kani for Kuon Eisou also reflect Kotaro's powers. His powers limited power of shadows. His use of dog spirts and beast powers. The power to release shockwaves from his first as well as from just yelling and his transformation powers.

Techniques

Instant Movement

Kage Bushin: A technique taught to him by Kaede it allows him to make multiple shadow clones of himself.

Howling Burst Knuckle- Kotaro focuses a massive amount of his dog spirts into his hand to release a highly destructive burst-like punch. This technique is able to rival Negi's Oukahouken and Raika Houken.

Black Wolf Rapid Air Fang- Kotaro fires a large amount of power dog spirts off at high speed to attack his enemies.

Transformations

Dog Tribe Beast Transformation: In this Form he involkes his beast powers. Though still looking human he gains a beast like apperance. All of his abilities are greatly increased while in this form.

Partial Body Transformation: Kotaro can transform parts of his part into beast form. He usually does this for his hands to increase their power.

Kuon Eisou: Quite possibly Kotaro's strongest form. In this form he comply transforms into a beast, fully transforming into a black wolf.

Relationships

Negi Springfield: Kotaro and Negi are rivals, but also best of friends. Kotaro was originally an enemy of Negi in the Kyoto Arc, where he appeared as a mercenary responsible for disrupting Negi's mission. After his defeat, he is imprisoned, but eventually escapes to Mahora Academy to warn Negi of an impending attack. After fighting alongside Negi against Graf Hermann, he decides to stay at Mahora and has been friends with Negi ever since. Kotaro's street smarts are a perfect balance to Negi's intellect, and he's not afraid to call out Negi on his brooding or negative feelings. When in his dream world from the Magic Lantern Circus, his dream world has him locked in combat with Negi. The two are constant tag team partners, fighting together in both the Mahora Festival and Ostia Festival tournaments. However, Kotaro appears jealous of Negi's rapid power development. Kotarou himself admitted to Kaede during the Mahora Festival is afraid that if he is too weak, Negi would no longer like him.

Fate Averruncus: Fate was originally Kotaro's partner during the Kyoto arc. Chapter 303 reveals that when Kotarou was imprisoned after the events in Kyoto, Fate was willing to release him if he assassinated Negi. Kotaro refused, but escaped anyway in order to warn Negi. He still holds a grudge against Fate, but realizes he is no match for his power.

Natsumi Murakami: Natsumi originally met a wounded Kotaro when he first came to Mahora, when he was initially disguised as a dog. They got off to a rough start (Kotaro attempted to hold Natsumi hostage) but Chizuru forced Natsumi to pretend Kotaro is her brother, so their other roommate, Ayaka Yukihiro, would not get suspicious. Natsumi eventually develops feelings for Kotaro, although she is reluctant to admit it. She follows Kotaro to the magic world because she is worried, eventually learning about magic and pactios. She is constantly confused about her feelings for Kotaro, since he alternates between his child form and disguise form -- a handsome teenager. Kotaro eventually realizes Natsumi's feelings for him, as well as his own affection towards Natsumi as family, and the two form a pactio together. Recently, Kotaro proposed that Natsumi should accompany him on mercenary missions, since her artifact is ideal for stealth. They end up getting married at the future-based conclusion of the series.

Chizuru Naba: One of Kotaro's other roommates. Kotaro originally was defiant against Chizuru, but she threatened him into obeying, eventually forcing him to assume the role of Natsumi's brother. A recurring gag is that Chizuru wants to shove a leek up Kotaro's anus, a folk remedy for curing colds. Chizuru appears to frighten Kotaro, although his reluctance to talk about Chizuru is misinterpreted as a sign of love, not fear. Despite her overbearing traits, Chizuru's nurturing personality makes her a mother figure to Kotaro, and two appear to have a familial bond.

Kaede Nagase: After Kotaro's embarrassing loss to Albireo Imma, Kotaro becomes upset over his lack of power. Out of sympathy, Kaede offers to train Kotaro. As a result, Kotaro has developed a student-teacher relationship with her, and is seen using ninja techniques like shadow cloning that she had taught him. Kotaro has great respect for his master, even offering to dance with her at the Governor's Ball during the Magic World arc. However, their relationship appears to be strictly platonic, and no romantic feelings are apparent.
Yue Ayase: Although she and Kotaro have a bit of a rivalry (during the Mahora festival, Yue intimidates Kotarou with her intellect), Kotaro appears to have respect for her -- especially during the Magic World Arc, which showcases Yue's great development in skill.

Mei Sakura: Mei and Kotaro originally fought against each other in the first round of the Mahora tournament. Despite Kotaro's vow to not hit women, Kotaro was able to defeat her with some creativity. Ever since her defeat, Mei appears to idolize Kotaro to a certain degree, and is eager to bring up her training and improvement to him. During the Magic World arc, Mei has a similar respect for "Kojiro", Kotaro's teenage alter-ego, even asking for his autograph, though she is aware that Kojiro and Kotaro are indeed the same person. Natsumi is quick to notice Mei's possible crush on Kotaro.

TAKANE D.GOODMAN  高音・D・グッドマン

High-school student and secret mage orignally from the Magic World who is studying abroad at the St. Ursula High School section of Mahora. Her magical affinity is shadows, and she can summon and direct shadow warriors, as well as create highly elaborate shadow armor. Her clothes have a nasty habit of suffering wardrobe malfunctions in combat (although part of it is due to her taking off her regular clothes when wearing shadow armor, as the armor would increase a person's defense capabilities sevenfold if nothing is worn over it). She, Mei and Gandolfini tried to arrest Chao before the festival but released her on behalf of Negi.
During the first day of the Festival, she and Mei attempted to stop Negi after Nodoka's request for a deep kiss resulted in him falling under the spell of the World Tree. However, they were thwarted by Negi, who delivered to them the first of their many strippings. She develops Tanaka-phobia due to her match with Tanaka-san, which led to an aforementioned blowing-off of clothing in front of thousands of people. She later loses to Negi in the tournament, and helps Asuna in an attempt to rescue Takamichi, both resulting in more unwanted nudity. In Chao's future, she is part of the force that is assigned to arrest Negi and his companions, after magic is revealed to the world.
However, when she encounters Asuna's magical cancellation ability and her Pactio artifact, she is once again stripped bare. Back in the present, She takes part in the battle against Chao's robot forces, as a "Hero Unit" (similar to those found in Real Time Strategy games) assisting the civilian "players" in holding the line. Despite the large amount of clothes-stripping beams in use by the robots, she manages to stay dressed for the duration of the battle and is one of the "Hero Units" to avoid being sent three hours into the future.
During the summer break, Takane, along with Mei, Misora, and Cocone, were visiting the Magic World around the time of the gatepost attacks and ended up getting stuck in the Magic World as well. She and the rest of girls that she was travelling with eventually meets up with some of students that accompanied Negi into the Magic World during the final match of the Ostia tournament, although they really get involved in assisting Negi's crew until the attack by Fate's minions at Godel's party, as they assisted in fighting the demon's and helping Asuna and Yue make their way to Haruna's ship.
Due to her experience with magic, Takane has also become aware of some of the various people who are connected to it. Hence, she and Mei provide Negi and Asuna some exposition about Takahata's life before becoming a teacher at Mahora, and she was also the one to inform Yuna the truth about her parents actually being mages. She joined with Ala Alba in the battle to save the magical world. She watched Negi and Fate battle as well as helped battle Shirabe.
Later, after Ala Alba returned from the magical world, she challenges Negi to a 'final battle' to make up for all the defeats he handed her. Once defeated, she bluntly asked Negi 'Why didn't you strip me?', apparently seeing it as his way of humiliating her. It seems she also has something of a crush on Negi, as just before their final bout, she declares that if she wins, he has to go out with her.

Abilities
Takane is an experienced mage, evident when she brought herself to the preliminaries of the martial arts tournament during the Mahora Festival. She also aided Negi in the ariel fight after Chao Lingshen was about to reveal magic top the world.

Shadow Magic- Her magical affinity is shadows, and she can summon and direct shadow warriors, as well as create elaborate shadow armors. These armors can increase the user's defense capabilities at least threefold, with it reaching up to sevenfold when not wearing any other clothes over them.

MEI SAKURA  佐倉愛衣
Kohai to her senpai, Takane whom she refers to as 'onee-sama'. She is deemed as a skilled Ministra Magi whose artifact is a broomstick. Mei is also a transfer student, sent to study from a North American mage academy before the Mahora Festival Arc.

Part In The Story

Mahora Festival arc On the night before the festival, Mei, Takane and Gandolfini made up the group that arrested Chao, but released her on behalf of Negi. During the first day of the festival, she and Takane, realizing that Nodoka was at a high risk of doing something that would activate the World Tree's magic, tried to intervene during her date with Negi. Unfortunately, Negi came to Nodoka's aide, and as a result, Nodoka ended up trigger the World Tree's magic to turn Negi in a "Kiss Terminator" obsessed with giving her a deep kiss. When Mei and Takane tried to subdue Negi, he ended up giving them the first of many strippings.
On the second day of the festival, she took part in the Mahora Tournament, where she was swiftly defeated in one hit by Kotarou. Later on, after Takane and Asuna were also eliminated from the tournament, she and the other two noticed Misora and Cocone sneaking around and, upon realizing that they're there to investigate on Chao's plan, joined them in exploring the underground of Mahora.
In the timeline where Chao was successful in revealing magic to the public, the press constantly hounded Mei in the aftermath. She, along with Megumi, assist Takane in their mission to arrest Negi's group when they try to find a way to rescue Negi and return to the third day of the festival. While Mei's artifact was able to nullify the abilities of some of Negi's Ministra Magi, Asuna's "magic cancel" ability and Ku Fei's martial arts training resulted in Mei's group getting defeated and stripped bare. After Mei's group comes to (and given the Library Club's tour blazers as cover for their body), Nodoka used her Pactio artifact on Mei to find out where Negi has been held, and Asuna comforts Mei by promising her that they will return the world back to normal.
After Negi and his returned to the third day of the festival, Mei was shown along with Takane entering in the battle against Chao's robot army.
Ostia Festival During the upcoming of the Ostia Festival, Mei learned about Ala Alba in the magical world when she watched a news report. She was in a vacation with Takane, Misora and Cocone.
Cosmo Entelecheia arc Mei aided Ala Alba in rescuing Anya, Asuna and the world during Fate's attempt of rewriting the magical world.

Abilities

Mei seems to have an elemental magic affinity for fire and is shown to be proficient enough to disarm Kaede and Setsuna at battle. Although in most fights, her true strengths were not demonstrated.

Pactio: Broom Girl. Her pactio artifact, the Liking to Cleaning, お掃除大好き, is a broom that she uses for combat as well as transportation, just as how Negi's does with his staff. It may be similar to the broom that Yue has. One possible power of the broom is to completely to disarm opponents with a stroke, but it is uncertain whether this is due to the broom, or Mei's own magical prowess.

MEGUMI NATSUME  夏目萌
A Dark-haired, glasses-wearing girl who is a magic student from the Mahora Elementary School. Nutmeg carries a short staff and primarily uses water magic, and is part of a Mahou Shojo team with Mei and Takane. She made her first major appearance with Takane and Mei as they tried to capture Asuna and Negi's other partners in the future, but was defeated by Negi's partners with the usual unfortunate results for a fight involving Takane. Back in the present, Nutmeg is helping monitor and coordinate forces in the battle against Chao's army.

COCONE FATIMA ROSA  ココネ
A young magician who tags along with Misora. A resident of Magic World who's studying abroad at Mahora, she specializes in telepathy, and is much better at drawing than Misora. She is also a brilliant archer and athlete. In chapter 300, she is seen accompanied with the title "Empire Immigration Plan Test Subject #18", hinting that at least one empire (possibly Hellas) is well aware of the impending collapse of the Magic World, with Cocone being a "not-pure" human sent to Earth in order to test out a possible plan to immigrate all the residents of the the empire onto Earth before the Magic World is destroyed.

EIKO 英子
A high-school ace and the leader of the Black Lilies, the championship dodge ball team of St. Ursula High. She teases Negi on the train when he first arrives at Mahora. Later she and her friends had a dodge ball match with Negi's class which decided who would have Negi as their teacher. She and her two friends, Bibi and Shii, make several cameo appearances afterwards. In the most recent chapter, she takes part in the so-called Third Day Festival Games, and is one of the first few casualties when she is stripped of her clothes.

NAOYA
A male high school student that also studies within Mahora and is a member of a dodge ball team as well. Has deep feelings for Eiko, his senpai, but was kept from confessing them during the Festival arc by Mana, who shot him in the head with a tranquilizer bullet. In recent rabu-kome chapters, it is explained that Naoya likes Eiko's competitiveness.

KAORU GOTOKUJI  豪徳寺 薫
Pompadoured fight-enthusiast and color commentator at the Festival arc tournament. A skilled fighter in his own right, Kaoru is trained under the art of "Kenka Sappo" (which translates to Brawl Skill) of which he is a self-proclaimed 30-dan in rank, and is also an able ki-user. Negi eliminated Kaoru in the elimination matches of the Legendary Mahora Martial Arts Tournament. Despite his rough and somewhat ridiculous appearance, Kaoru is a nice person (who whole-heartedly admitted his loss to Negi and even encouraged him to go for it and offered him gum). He seems to have a rather extensive knowledge of various forms of martial arts (for instance, as the explainer for the Mahora tournament, he is able to identify most of the techniques used, like Mana's Rakansen and Takamichi's Iaiken techniques). He placed an impressive seventh in the Mage-vs-Martians battle, but only won a mere 40 meal tickets.

KEIICHI YAMASHITA  山下 慶一
A fighter trained under the art of "3-D jujutsu.” Evangeline beat him in a split second in the first round of the Legendary Mahora Martials Arts Tournament. He is named after one of Akamatsu's assistants.

TATSUYA NAKAMURA  中村 達也
A hotheaded fighter who specializes in ki projectiles, but has a glaring weakness in his lack of close quarter combat skill. Kaede beat him in the first round of the Legendary Mahora Martials Arts Tournament. He apparently knows the Kamehameha.

POCHI DAIGOIN  大豪院 ポチ
A fighter seemingly skilled in Chinese martial arts. Not much is known about him as he was completely outclassed by Albireo Imma in the first round of the Legendary Mahora Martials Arts Tournament.

HARUKI & YUKI

A boy and girl who attend Mahora Elementary. Yuki has a crush on Haruki, and was nearly shot by Mana for trying to confess her feelings to at the wrong place. She was saved by Negi, who blew her hat off with a gust of wind, causing them to chase it far away from the danger zone, where she could then tell him without triggering a geas from the World Tree. They later appear after being drafted into a "best couples" contest, alongside Eiko and Naoya, and Ako and Negi (using an age-deceiving pill and posing as his own cousin), who also was drafted. They ended up winning the contest, despite not being sure that they were actually a couple.
On the third day of the Festival, both are stripped down to their underwear as a result of being hit by Chao's robot beams. Yuki and Eiko (who was also caught in the attack) promptly punch out their "boyfriends", telling them to look away.

CAPTAIN SERIZAWA  芹沢
The leader of the Mahora Biathlon team. Mana has a crush on him, and he seems to share the feeling. Unfortunately, he chose to tell her during the school festival while she and Negi were watching out for confessions, and was shot by Mana to stop him from saying anything. It was then revealed by Chamo that the person in Mana's locket and the one she shot were different people, only having similar looks.

CAPTAIN NANAKA AIRHEART
The head of the Mahora University's Aviation Club. She pilots a biplane and leads the team responsible for the aerial acrobatics presentation of the Mahora Festival. She is also the person who is able to confirm the whereabouts of Chao Lingshen (atop the airship that roams the skies of Mahora City during the festival) during the Mahora Festival's Final Day Event. Her surname likely comes from that of the American aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart.

Negima!? Ala Rubra Character

ALA RUBRA
A sub-group of AAA or The Eternal Wind is a fictional group of characters from the manga series Negima!: Magister Negi Magi, created by Ken Akamatsu. The name is Latin for "Crimson Wing", and was the inspiration for Nagi's son's similar group, Ala Alba ("White Wing").

HISTORY
War in the Magical World
The original formation of the group has yet to be seen, but the first interaction of the group that is shown when Jack joins up. Jack Rakan had been hired to take out a 'group of elites', consisting at that time of Nagi Springfield, Albireo Imma, Eishun Konoe, and Filius Zect. After 13 hours of fighting, the battle between Jack and Nagi finally came to a draw and Jack ended up joining the group himself. As the war in the Magical World started, 'The great Nagi guerrilla knights' inherited a losing battle. They started fighting on the confederation side, from way out at the Argyre borders to right on the front lines, fighting the war practically single-handedly. Amongst their enemies, the group members gained various epithets, such as 'Red-Haired Demon of the Confederation' and 'Man of a Thousand Spells'. By the time of the 'Great Bridge Recapture Operation,' Ala Rubra had finally gained their legendary status, which happened together with the turning point of the war itself. After this legendary battle, Gateau and Takamichi joined the group as new allies and friends. A bit later, the group encountered Arika Anarchia Entheofushia, princess of the Vespertatia royal family; around the same time, their main enemy finally gets revealed, Cosmos Entelecheia. Nagi becomes the personal bodyguard of princess Arika during this time. Sometime, Nagi and Gateau both figure out that Senator McGill is a member of Cosmos Entelecheia. As Ala Rubra confronts the Consul, Averruncus I appears along with two of his companions, but withdraw shortly after encountering Ala Rubra. Former allies then turned on Ala Rubra and chased them out of the capital. Nagi went out with Eishun to rescue Arika and the young princess Theodora. Afterwords, as the group returned to their base, Arika asked Nagi if Ala Rubra truly is invincible and makes him an accolade gesture to her knight. Ala Rubra then began its all-out battle against Cosmos Entelecheia. During it, the group found itself some new allies, including Kurt Godel and the, at this point still young, Ariadne Academy Principal. The final battle took place at the 'Gravekeeper's Palace,' during which Ala Rubra finally won against Cosmo Entelecheia. Shortly after the battle appeared to be won, the true mastermind, The Mage of the Beginning, appeared and engaged the group in a battle, heavily wounding nearly everyone. Nagi and Zect then confront the Mage of the Beginning and manage to defeat him, whith Zect apparently disappearing together with the Mage of the Beginning in the end.

After the War
Ala Rubra became even more famous after the end of the war and were considered from that moment on asto be the 'Heroes of the Magical World'. The group split up into two groups, with Nagi, Eishun, Rakan, and Albireo traveling together and Gateau, Takamichi, and Godel working together. The latter group stayed by princess Arika's side as personal advisers following the war. Nagi's group instead went out to help to clean up the mess and help people recover from the war. The senate accused Princess Arika for the war and her part in it with fake allegations and imprisoned her and scheduled her to be executed. Kurt informed Nagi and the others about this turn of events, but only got in response from Nagi that he wanted to save more people instead of only one special person. This later turns out to be only a cover for his real actions and feelings towards the princess.

The day came when Arika was to be executed. As Arika walked towards her death, she only regretted that she wasn't able to be with Nagi and her only wish was to see him a last time. At the last moment, a soldier interrupted the live-broadcast, making the senator and the observing crowd upset. The soldier soon revealed himself to be none other than Jack Rakan from Ala Rubra. The shocked senator then asked what happened with Arika when Jack Rakan is here, to which the man responds that he has nothing to worry about, because 'this idiot' takes care of things now. The angry senator immediately called for the troops and guards to come, to which Rakan (who now had backup from Eishun, Gateau, and Albireo) asked "Are you seriously telling me that you think that's gonna be enough?". As Nagi saved Arika and proposed to her at the same time, the rest of Ala Rubra took their last official known action, crushing the corrupt troops of the senator.
Later, at least 8 years after the war, Secundum along with Septendecim, Nii and Tertium encounter and engages Nagi in battle, who gets then backup from Arika and Albireo. This event seemed to be the prelude to the three important points of the story line:
The sealing of the Mage of the Beginning.
Nagi and Arika's disappearing/death.
The Death of Geteau by trying to help Asuna.

Unknown Time Period

At some point during the war, Nagi, together with Eishun and Albireo, saved a young Asuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia, who was being forced to use her magic-canceling abilities for the enemy.
Years after the war and shortly for Nagi's disappearing, Ala Rubra appears (without Zect, who vanished by the fight with the Mage of the Beginning, and Rakan) with Asuna in Istanbul. Its assumeable that it is arround 3-5 years after the war, since Takamichi was by it already a young man and not a teenager anymore.

After Nagi has already disappeared, Gateau, Takamichi, and Asuna traveled together. Gateau somehow gets mortally wounded protecting Asuna and, as he is dying, tells Takamichi to erase Asuna's memory of the events so that she would not have to live with the pain she had witnessed.

Future & Epilogue
7 years in the future is the Mage of the Beginning finally defeated and Nagi freed with the compinated help of Negi and his Magistra Mages, the remains of Ala Rubra, Kotarou and Fate Averrunus. Rakan, Eishun, Alberio, Nagi and Evangline await then Negi and the main part of Ala Albra for a reunion. Rakan and Nagi are telling Yue that she can fight meanwhile pretty well while Nagi compliments his son of getting such good and "sexy looking" comerads. They party group then celebrates its being and the good outcome with Evangline close the chapter with the words: "True magic results from the courage of the Heart. Boys and Girls, be ambitious."

Abilities
-Most members have at least one special area, where they are considered unmatched.
-Nagi has Pactios with at least Albireo and Jack out of the group.
-Albireo seems to have Pactios with Kurt and Takamichi, since he was able to summon them through Pactio seals, like Negi did before with Asuna and Setzuna.
-The group has at least two strong swordsmen, Jack and Eishun. Kurt is later shown to have been a pupil of Eishun and become a great Shinmei-ryū swordsman himself as well.
-Even though Filius Zect's abilities were not shown, it is assumed that they were fairly high, as Nagi always called him 'Master'. Zect also stated that he has lived for at least 2600 years, which he describes as "2600 years of torment."
-Nagi and Jack were said to have had the same strength when they first met, fighting to a standstill. It is notable that Nagi was much younger than Rakan at that time (Jack stated that Nagi was only 13 when the war started).
-Rakan is known to have defeated (single-handedly): 137 ships (including 1 super dreadnought, 3 airborne motherships, and 13 cruisers), 9 divine soldiers at once, and at least one being on par with a high daylight walker like Evangeline: an ancient dragon.
-Rakan also displayed how great his strenght is by destroying a magical deminsion with sheer will power.Chisame states that: "He is so broken, that it isnt even funny even more." Giving an idea, how strong the other members are, while Rakan still being on per with Nagi.
-So far is Albireo the only one seen to use gravity magic. He is also the only one in the group shown to be able to 'walk' on air without using a charm, staff or other tool.
-As Rakan stated towards Negi is the most common trait in the group the 'idiocy', as well as the fact that they are all 'group' or 'co-op' players despite being already fearsome and powerful on their own. Nagi, and Ala Rubra overall, is the strong opposite of Negi, who follows rather after his mother and Evangeline, a 'single'-player and tactician.
-At least two members, Eishun and Godel, have access to influential and powerful organisations, i.e. the Kansai Magic Association and the Megalomesembrias Senate.
-After being freed from the Mage of the Beginning, Nagi might still have some ambilities from him.

NAGI SPRINGFIELD
 ナギ・スプリングフィールド
Aka The Thousand Master, is a fictional character from the manga series Negima!: Magister Negi Magi, created by Ken Akamatsu. He is the father of the main character Negi Springfield as well as being the centerpoint of the main plot of the story.

Background & Personality
Negi's father and a legendary wizard. The origin of his title is ambiguous; some bill him as the master of a thousand spells (which is patently untrue since he admits to being a dropout who only knows a handful of spells and needs to read out of pocket notes to cast other, albeit very powerful, spells). However, this was stated in a dream that Evangeline had, and because she "hates" him, may not be true, but it seems to have been verified by Asuna having Nagi say something to the same effect during her most detailed flashback dream. There is also a rumor that he made probationary contracts with a thousand different girls, though this is almost certainly just a lie of Albert Chamomile's, meant to inspire Negi to make many contracts and earn Chamo-kun a huge brokerage fee with the Ermine Society. However, if you look closely at Albireo Imma's Pactio card, in the top left hand corner, are the roman numerals MI, that translate to 1001. Nagi is so strong, in both magical and physical combat, that he does not even need any Ministra Magi to help him. His fighting style was that of a magic swordsman, using both speedy magic casting and hand-to-hand combat in tandem.
Despite what many people think, he never did graduate from a wizard school, even admitting that he is a dropout. When he was ten years old, he became the winner of essentially the last Legendary Mahora Martial Arts Tournament, twenty-five years before the current one. Later, Nagi and his friends fought in a magic war that ended years ago, when he was fifteen years of age. After the war, he became famous for his heroic deeds and received the title of Thousand Master. He disappeared ten years ago in 1994, the same year Negi was born. No one knows precisely what happened to him, but most people assume he is in fact dead. In a recording made by Alberio shortly before Negi's birth, Nagi himself assumed that he would be dead by the time Negi saw it. However, Nagi managed to survive, and he showed up just in time to save Negi from a horde of demons attacking his home village. He seemed to still be in trouble however, as he could only stay long enough to give Negi his staff. Since Albireo has a pactio with Nagi and it remains active, it is proof that, despite his disappearance, Nagi is still alive.
Unlike his son Negi who is hard-working, mature, serious, is repectful when talking (such as referring to each of his students with the honorific "san") and insecure, Nagi is shown to be lazy, child-like, laid back ,and simply refers to someone by name even to his elders (considered very disrespectful in Japan), with the sole exception being Filius Zect (to whom Nagi refers as "master") He also seems to hate being called by titles such as Nagi-san preferring people to simply call him Nagi and is said to be a "ladies man". However, like Negi, he is a kind and caring man and is for the most part always seen with a smile on his face, with a cunning and shrewdness that surpasses common sense. The illusionary Nagi created by Alberio was much the same, though with a noticeable ego.
The last known information about Nagi's whereabouts was obtained by Ayaka upon Asuna's request to launch an investigation on him; according to Ayaka's findings, he disappeared in Istanbul (as was revealed in Chapter 176, complete with a map of Turkey). The Thousand Master is a mage whose elemental magic affinity is lightning.

Role In The Story
Although he has only appeared in flash backs (save his end appearance at the end of Negima!? see below), he plays a major role in the story as trying to find him is what drives Negi so hard. Although most of the world thinks he dead, most of his close friends knew better saying that "Nagi is way too strong to let himself get killed off that easy". The fact that Alberio Imma and Rakan of the Thousand Blades have living, active, pactio contracts with Nagi also serve as proof that he is indeed still alive.
When Negi and his group are looking for him in the magic world. In order to avoid bounty hunters, Negi uses Age-Deceiving Pills to make himself look older and is going by the alias of 'Nagi Springfield,' which causes a media sensation in the fighting tournament he is now involved in. It is also shown that Nagi has a huge fan club in which many members believe that the disguised Negi is actually Nagi reincarnated.
After Negi and Asuna defeated the Lifemaker his hood falls back to reveal Nagi's face. Before the Lifemaker disintegrates Nagi seemingly takes control of the body and tells Negi to find his real body and put an end to everything by killing him.
In the events of the final chapter of the manga, set seven years in the future, Negi has reunited with Nagi and the two teams, Ala Rubra and Ala Alba, meet for a friendly gathering. Once he had a look at his son's "comrades", he automatically teased Negi for the fact they were all girls. But Nagi later admits that he has great friends and would love to meet the rest of Class 2-A in the future.

Relationships

Negi Springfield: His only child, who like him, is a skilled mage, but personality wise are complete opposites. He left Negi before he was born and never met him until the night he saved Negi when his village was in danger and gave him his staff. Nagi had his friend Takamichi T. Takahata look after his son to make sure he was okay.

Arika Anarchia Entheofushia: The mother of Negi and Queen of Ostia. It's revealed she was tried in the national courts and "executed" 18 years ago for being suspected in being in league with Cosmo Entelecheia, but in reality she was rescued by Nagi who took her to the Old World so that they could be together.

Nekane Springfield: His only known niece, she is a relative by blood to Nagi. He had met Nekane before Negi was born.

Evangeline A.K. McDowell: A centuries-old vampire cursed to remain at the school by Nagi. After Nagi saved her life, she fell in love with him, and pursued him relentlessly until he managed to shake her off. Feeling rejected, she finally tracked him down in Japan, but was tricked into walking into an "anti-vampire soup" composed of garlic and leeks. Employing the powerful Infernus Scholasticus (School Hell) curse, he confined her to the grounds of Mahora Academy and put in place a barrier to restrict most of her abilities. He then told Eva that she should try to "live in the light for a change" and promised her that he would free her from the curse when she graduated. However, he never returned to free her from the spell, which caused her to hate him afterwards.

Asuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia: While circumstances surrounding the situation varies from series to series, it is shown that Asuna had once traveled with Nagi and Ala Rubra.

Other Ala Rubra members: It is shown that Nagi had a connection with all of the Ala Rubra members, including Takahata-Sensei who is a teacher at Mahora Academy, rival Jack Rakan who recently met Negi, Eishun, Godel, Albireo, and Gateau.

NAGI In Other Media

Negima!
Nagi also met Asuna when she was a child and traveled with her for a while, just before he disappeared. In the anime, Nagi accompanies Asuna so they can find a way to stop a contract between a Demon and Asuna, wherein she will die in 10 years. One day, Asuna accidentally nullifies Nagi's magic shield, and he is pierced through the chest by a demon's sword. He quickly casts a spell that causes both him and the demon to disappear in some sort of black hole. When he does this he says "Negi, take good care of Asuna" even though Negi never introduced himself to his father and Asuna when he was found, and by that it means that Nagi already knew Negi when he found him.

Negima!?
Although he is initially seen through flashbacks and dream sequences, Nagi is explicitly shown to be alive in this series, even saving his son and Anya from the Star Crystal after the final battle between the latter two. Nagi however remains as elusive as ever, leaving his son behind even before a reunion can take place. But he is not a bad father by any means as he is the one who sent the Magical Academy agents Motsu and Shichimi to watch over Negi. Eventually, Nagi tells the two to switch their alliances with Negi, seeing his son mature in just a short time.

ARIKA ANARCHIA ENTHEOFUSHIA
The princess and later queen of the Vespertatia, and Negi's mother.

Personality
She has heterochromia (left eye green, right blue), similar to Asuna's eyes (left eye blue, right green). She was very naive and cold because of her upbringing inside the castle which both shelter her from the world and expose her to the greed and betrayal within the kingdom, despite all this she is shown to be a brave leader. When she reluctantly sacrificed her country to save the magic world she did everything within her power to reduce the casualties, including going personaly to escort people to safety, and even when casualties amounted to less than three percent this was still not enough. Because of her sherltered upbringing she had problems expressing her true emotions, which she believes she is not allow to have because of her royal status and hardly changes her cold expression. She also has no patience for Nagi's perverted attitude and slaps him with her magic when he gets out of line.

Synopsis
Arika Anarchia Entheofushia was the princess and later queen of the Vespertatia and was also the person most actively trying to end the war before ruin. For this, she needed "the invincible" Ala Rubra on her side. After she came in contact with Ala Rubra in the confederation and gained information, she went to meet the third princess of the Hellas empire to comence negotiations but both princesses were captured by after Ala Rubra were declared traitors by Primum. Caught in that trap, pursued by both the empire and the confederation, they manage to fight their way towards the place where Princess Arika and Princess Theodora of the Hellas Empire were being held captive, rescue them and escaped to their hide out. There, they suggested that the according to their information the higher-ups in the capital of Ostia were heavily corrupted by the enemy which lead to the conclusion that they had no allies in the empire, the confederation, or Vespertatia. Arika once again asked Nagi and Ala Rubra to served under her and then they started their counter attack, thanks to Arika, Ala Rubra still had a few allies and they were able to identify who was the enemy.
During the final battle, Arika was able to stopped the magic that would have destroyed the world using the magic that kept Ostia floating.
Arika was arrested when the Megalomesembria senate accused her of killing her father, the King, and for being in league with Cosmo Entelecheia, this was all false information the senate created to make her a scapegoat for the war. Arika was force to spend two years imprisoned before her schedule execution in Cerberus Canyon. After she jumped to her death in Ceberus Canyon she was rescued by Nagi, who confesses his feelings for Arika and makes her admit her own feelings for him, after Arika finally admits she loves Nagi, he proposed and Arika replied "yes". Rakan and Ala Rubra forced the senate to cover up the rescue so that Arika could live in peace but this did not stopped the Megalomesembria senate from putting a bounty on Ala Rubra.
Eight years after the war Arika is seen fighting the remnants of Cosmo Entelachiea, which included Tertium, alongside Nagi and Alberio. Two years later she gave birth to Negi Springfield, but because unknown circumstances she couldn't raise him.

Abilities
It is hinted that Arika is holding a special kind of magical power, so far only known as 'Royal Magic'. Apparently it is a different kind of magic compared to the normal one. Its true power and abilities are to date unknown, but its obviously very strong, since Arika was able to beat up Nagi with simple slaps pretty badly. Arika has also been seen with a sword a few times, but it is unknown how well she can use it.

 JACK RAKAN  ジャック・ラカン
Jack Rakan (Jacobus Racan on his pactio card as the "k" in his family name is replaced with a "c" as is standard on all pactio cards), also known as "Rakan of the Thousand Blades", is the large, dark-skinned member of Nagi's group, the dark skin being dues to the fact that he is a member of the Hellas Race. He has been referred to several times as the 'Ultimate Broken Character', a reference to RPG characters whose stats and abilities are so powerful that they are almost unbeatable.

Background / Part In The Story
He appears to be a powerful fighter, demonstrating incredibly destructive attacks with relative ease. He has a very greedy and laid back personality. He refuses to do favors for free, and tends to not really care about much, including the political aspect of the war. He seems to follow the theme of "idiocy" that Kotarou mentioned, as he tends to do silly things in battle, including using more strength than is required and using ridiculous moves ("Eternal Negi Fever"), which was thought to be a draft of a move he wished to teach Negi, during his fight with Negi. He revealed that he first met the group as an enemy, being hired to take them on after they interrupted the invasion of Ostia, and eventually changed sides and joined the group. He has demonstrated the ability to emit a high-powered laser from his body at a whim. Rakan initially encounters Negi (in his older disguise) in the Magical World witnessing his battles in the tournaments to raise money to free some of his students. Seeing him without a special ultimate technique, he offers Negi to teach him one for a huge fee. However, after the two of them are attacked by a shadow-manipulator who wants revenge on Nagi, Rakan is forced to save Negi's life for free as well as decides to become his teacher without the fee. Rakan then teaches Negi a technique called Magia Erebea, a forbidden technique created by Evangeline A.K. McDowell. Later he has joined Negi and the rest in Ostia.
While Fate confronted Negi, Fate sent two of his partners, Koyomi and Tamaki, to Rakan in an attempt to engage him in talks. Rakan wasted no time in provoking the two by making lewd comments and stealing Koyomi's panties, which incites them to trap him in a pactio-induced alternate dimension along with Konoka and Chamo.
Rakan is able to escape the trap by discerning the physical location of Koyomi and Tamaki within the dimension and confronting them. Inspection of Koyomi's stolen panties allowed Rakan to give a ballpark estimate of their location, and Chamo's expertise was able to refine the estimate into a pinpoint coordinate. The barrier dimension was then destroyed apparently by Rakan's sheer willpower.
After Fate's retreat, he began to show Negi's party (minus Yue, Anya and as it is later revealed; Asuna) a movie displaying the Mundus Magicus War. A bit later after the tournament has started, Rakan has made his entry with Kagetarou. Negi (alias Nagi) initially lost his nerve over the prospect of having to fight against his mentor, considering that, according to Rakan's personal strength judging system, Rakan's base power is ranked 12,000 compared to Negi's 700 (before receiving a boost from Magia Erebea). Taking the system into account, with one attack, he can destroy six aegis warships.
In a flashback two days before the final 20th anniversary match celebrating the end to the Schismatic War, Negi had taken time to study Rakan's past. It was then revealed that Rakan was not always how Negi had perceived him to be and that he became the man he is today through struggles and effort alone. Like Rome of old, Rakan made his debut 40 years ago as a young slave boy who was a gladiator in the Hellas Empire. And over the first few years, there were many times when he was nearly killed. After unsaid years he climbed to the top of the gladiator world, and obtained his freedom. It was around that time that people began to call him "invincible". With his retirement as a gladiator, he took part in numerous real battles in the outside world, overcoming many crisis and dilemmas. Fame soon followed him, along with countless nicknames such as "The Man Who Cannot Die", "The Thousands Blades", The Legendary Mercenary Swordsman", and so on. After learning Rakan's history, Negi comments that Rakan's talent can be said to have been built from scratch, with no cheats, tricks or luck. His strength was forged and honed over the 40 long years of real battle experience and training. And the reason why Rakan can act so laid back is due to his mountain of experience and confidence, because of this Negi refers to Rakan as 'The Ultimate Hard Worker'.
In his fight with Negi, Rakan is overwhelmingly powerful, reversing a situation in which he was being pummeled in an instant only by studying that same pummeling. He sees through Negi's new technique and delivers, what is thought to be, the ending blow to the fight. After this blow is struck, Negi gets back up but is soon repeatedly pummeled by Jack until he is left lying on the ground. While Negi is lying on the ground, Jack gives him advice to quit and reveals that the entire fight was a test and that he never intended it to be a serious match, Jack continues saying that since Negi was defeated he will not reveal the secrets concerning Negi's mother. After Negi gets back up Rakan notices that Negi is planning something and is not defeated just yet. Jack then fights Kotarou Inugami, who is defending Negi to buy him time to cast a spell and defeats Kagetarou, however Jack soon defeats Kotarou and then confronts Negi. Negi then activates his ultimate spell Duplex Complexio. After overcoating 2 chilpl astrapes he pummels Rakan with overwhelming speed, but sufficiently lacks the strength and power to finish it. This makes him trick Rakan into a strength contest by showing off his unison lightning lance, and when Jack falls for it, Negi absorbs Rakan's attack. When he hits Rakan with the lightning lance and 2 chilpl astrapes, the fight appears to be over. But, Rankan manages to get back up. He declares Negi a man and wants to fight Negi further. They both know they have used up most of their magical power and are unable to use any more. So, they resort to using common fist fighting. During which Jack states to himself that even though Negi isnothing like Nagi, his fight with Negi was almost like fighting Nagi again.Although he is a laid back guy he seems to be aware of what is happening around him and as stated by Kaede has a field of “Ki” surrounding him at all times. He also is aware of what happened to Nagi and who Negi’s real mother is, but is hiding the facts from him. His race is Hellas. He's also a great artist and can copy techniques through observation, he claims to have no weaknesses.
Jack confronts Fate Averruncus atop the building in which Kurt Godel's ball is held. After exchanging words that confirm that Fate is the third Averruncus, the previous two having been defeated by Nagi, they are interrupted by Fate's Minister Magi, whom Jack initially fights using the same perverted techniques he used in an earlier confrontation with Tamaki and Koyomi. After being trapped in Tamaki's barrier dimension again, for a while it appears as if Fate's partners might gain the upper hand, but Jack soon emerges unscathed from their attacks, and questions them as to why they work for Fate, which he finds out (after reading their minds) that they are all war-orphans. After Rakan and Fate begin fighting seriously, Fate summons a staff and Rakan tries to fight back, but after learning that it's a mirage it will be too late as the worst enemy of Ala Rubra appears before him, cuts his legs and arms and forces him to wear a special armor and commence into battle. Despite a brave battle, Jack is erased by the Code of the Lifemaker, but still manages to temporarily re-form himself to pass a few last words to Negi.Later Jack Rakan returns when the conclusion between Ala Alba and CosmoCosmos Entelecheia reaches after Negis battle with Fate its peak. He says even though he was erased he was brought back from it because of his fighting spirit and Asuna's power. He defeats without any problems the Acient Dragon Vrkso Nagasya and assists to keep the group in check until Evangline finished her chanting. Evangline is then suprised that he made it out of it alive, stating that she setted her spell onto him aswell. While the two quarral they get interupted inform of the Mage of the Beginning. He watches then with the rest how Asuna and Negi battle the Mage of the Beginning. As the Mage of the Beginning appears to be Nagi and Evangline gets obvoisly shocked from that fact, looks Raken somehow dead serious yet kind of hateful towards him .Rakan is also present when Evangline does her "Farewell Battle" with Negi and Asuma and also as Asuna departs back to the Magical World
.In the Epilogue is his later seen enjoying with Nagi, Eishun, Al and Evangline drinks while they waited for Ala Alba to arrive.

Abilities
Hand To Hand Combat: Jack Rakan is a extremely powerful and high level warrior of close quaters combat. So much he is unrivaled in a close range fight, trying to fight him at hand to hand combat is considered suicide.

Super Strength: One of the reasons he is so dangerous, especially in hand to hand combat, is because of his overwhelming strength that very few can handle.

Ki and Magic Abilities: He has a massive amount of both ki and magical power. The natural raw power of either are both very destuctive. So much so that he can cause massive destruction and break through other dimmensions through willpower by simply using will power to release his magical and Ki power.
It was noted by Kaede that his body is surrounded by a wall of Ki at all times.

Pactio: Armiger Milliplex: His artifact is called Ho Heroes Meta Chilion Prosopon (The Hero Of a Thousand Faces). His artifact can transform into any type of weapon at his will. In his words his artifact can transform into "any shape imaginable", from multiple weapons of any kind to armor (which can act as replacement limbs if need be).

Keen Intellect: Despite his ridiculous personality, Rakan is actually a very intelligent fighter, analyzing enemy abilities and finding weaknesses in them. This does not only apply to defeating enemy techniques, but also copying them as just by having seen his teammate Eishun Konoe perform Shinmei-ryu techniques he was able to duplicate a powerful Ni no Tachi technique.

ALBIREO IMMA  アルビレオ・イマ
One of Nagi's former companions. He entered the fighting tournament during the Mahora school festival under the assumed name "Ku:Nel Sanders" and went largely unnoticed until he approached Asuna and was recognized by Evangeline. He appears to have information on not only Nagi's whereabouts, but also on Asuna's forgotten past. Albireo appears to be a perverted fellow, as his taste in making Evangeline wear costumes made apparent in recent chapters. He's also a cunning and shrewd man with a trickster personality akin to Nagi Springfield (though perhaps a little more subtle), and is considered as one of the two natural enemies which Evangeline has (he takes great delight in verbally tormenting her), with the other being Nagi himself. Following the school festival he gives Negi confirmation that Nagi is still alive and advises that he should journey to the magical world if he is to get any closer to finding what happened to his father. He has also revealed details of Asuna's forgotten past to Eva. He also took part in the final battle facing against the revived members of Cosmo Entelecheia. Albireo Imma has a strong affinity towards gravity elemental magic. As member of Ala Rubra, his position on the team was that of the magic healer. An interesting fact revealed in the latest chapters is that Albireo has his very own Pactio card, which means that he, in addition of being a powerful mage, is also a Minister Magi. His artifact is a series of books, with an accompanying bookmark, that can be used to transform into a specific person, using all their skills and abilities. His present Pactio is with Nagi, but he has had at least ten contracts with other mages in the past, all of whom are dead.
This perverted, but handsome fellow is registered as a librarian in the Mahora Library Island. For some reason he has been "stuck" there for 10 years, and can only send out a replica of himself every year during the school festival with the help of the World Tree's magic. With some help from Yue and Nodoka, Negi was able to find the location where Albireo resides some time after the Kyoto field trip. However, it wasn't until after the Mahora Festival that Negi and his students were finally able to enter his residence in Library Island. In tune with his library theme is his Magic Password, "Papyrus Tarpis Ron Jinkou", and he refers to himself as an extremely ancient book.
He also seems to have great knowledge of the mysteries and secrets of Mundus Magicus. He is hinted to be the one who uncovered the true goal of Cosmo Entelecheia. He also seems to have known who the Life Maker really was at first glance.

Abilities
Pactio: Bibliothecarius Ironicus: His item is known as To Fyuron To Biographiconis. It is a bookmark accompanied by a spiraling archive of books, assumedly containing one book for every person Albireo has ever encountered in his life. Using the bookmark, he places it inside a book (with the name of the person he chooses to imitate on the cover) and draws it out in order to transform into a clone of that person, also obtaining the ability to use their powers. The artifact lacks its usefulness for Albireo as he can only keep his transformed appearance for a few minutes, if the being he wishes to emulate is stronger than him. Add to that the fact that most people are weaker than Albireo himself, he does not need to turn himself into them. Another ability of Albireo's artifact is that it can, for a full 10 minutes, allow him to transform into that person and emulate them perfectly (in thought processes, memories, emotion, personality, etc.), but the price to pay for this ability is quite high. The book that has the records of the then-copied being would lose all of its power after that time ran out, and would turn into nothing more than a simple biography (and as he say's himself, "a rather mundane read"). Furthermore, Albireo will only have the memories of that person up to the point in which the biography was written (when he last saw that person). The Nagi Springfield Albireo emulated during the festival only knew of Negi as an infant, had no memory of saving and meeting Negi six years prior, and in fact assumed that "he", the real Nagi, was already dead.
Albireo has in his possession more than one copy of his own pactio card, showing that Albireo has been a Minister Magi and performed contracts with multiple mages, although whether they were simultaneous contracts cannot be confirmed as only one copy is shown to be active.
Much like the girls in the class, who have their seat numbers on their pactio cards, Albireo happens to have a Roman numeral MI (for 1,001) in the upper left and lower right corners of his pactio card. He has confirmed that this Pactio is with Nagi Springfield, the Thousand Master. Since it is currently active, the contract also proves that Negi's father is still alive.
Uncommon to most partners thus far, Albireo possesses two tonus (colors) associated with his card (cyaneum, [indigo] and aurum, [gold]), instead of the usual one. The reasoning for this has yet to be confirmed. It should also be noted that the gold makes his pactio a valuable and rare one.
this most likely is a reference to his namesake, the binary star Albireo which is made up of one yellow star and one blue star.
Master Magical Ability: Albireo has shown himself to be a master of gravity and healing magic.

List of Spells
Small Heavy Black Hole - Albireo Imma created a small sphere which is the equal of a Black Hole. This spell even damaged Dynamis despite his shields to a high degree. Very powerful spell.

THEODORA OF THE HELLAS EMPIRE
'' TOMBOY PRINCESS ''
Appearances & Personality
Queen of Hellas of Vesperisszimia ,  is the third princess of the Hellas Empire. Not much information is known about her, aside from the fact that she is a part of the Hellas race, like Jack Rakan. She is thirty years old in Human years, but she is actually 10 years old in Hellas years. Although she normally acts like a reliable ruler, she hides several childish traits, such as a short temper and foul mouth -- especially around Rakan. These are problematic when she is supposed to be an important political figure and the "voice of a country". Despite these shortcomings, she appears to be a very competent leader and general. She is close friends with Rakan and the two have an almost brother-sister type of friendship.

Part In The Story
Theodora is first shown in the video Jack Rakan shows to Ala Alba. During the war she joined Arika and Ala Rubra in the final battle 20 years ago. She attempts to meet up with Princess Arika for negotiations between the warring confederation and empire, only to be kidnapped by the mysterious organization Cosmo Entelecheia. She is rescued alongside Arika, and winds up accompanying Ala Rubra back to their secret hideout. Together, the two princesses use their arsenals to help launch a counterattack against Cosmo Entelecheia. Combined, these forces were led to magically seal the world-ending ceremony launched by Cosmo Entelecheia, who were using Princess Asuna as a weapon. The plan worked -- at the cost of causing the floating island of Ostia to collapse. Theodora later appears during Ala Rubra's award ceremony. Theodora herself claims she knows nothing about Princess Arika's fate after the events of the war.She along with Seras, (the Headmistress of the Ariadne knights) and Ricardo, (Senator of Megalosembria) helped Negi and Kotarou with extra training in order to defeat Rakan in the tournament. She tells Negi that she was a good friend of Nagi and Arika and that she knows what happened to them. The most important question from Negi: Is Arika his mother?, but Theodora can't tell Negi the details. Because of a promise made by Ala Rubra, she can't tell Negi about the magic world's (Magicus Mundus) affairs until he has reached full manhood. At the end of the chapter, Theodora makes a pactio with Negi. On Negi's pactio card it seems he is holding an item like the spellbook Nagi used. His artifact is a card case that allows him to summon and use his ministra's artifacts and abilities associated with them.
She is briefly seen during the Governor's Ball, commanding troops against demons summoned by Cosmo Entelecheia. However, the power of the Master Keys' rewrite simply erases her arsenal. She summons the Sacred Dragon, Vrixho Nagasha, to combat a giant monster summoned by Dynamis, only to have it taken down in one shot. She then witnesses Chachamaru's artifact, Al-Iskandariya, defeat the demon in one hit. Upon seeing this power, Theodora comments that Ala Alba may just have the ability to save the magic world.
On Ala Alba's mission to the Ostia Ruins, Theodora returns. Here, she uses her fleet to fire at the enemy demons Tsukuyomi summoned, which clears a path for their ships to travel. The remaining demons are then defeated by Negi's party.
Although Theodora is a well-respected royal figure, it appears that Kurt Godel may have more political power than her. In chapter 256, Kurt states he has authority to remove Ala Alba's bounty, which is beyond Princess Theodora's ability. This would explain why Theodora didn't eliminate the bounty, despite being on friendly terms with Negi.
