MAHORA TEACHERS
TAKAMICHI T. TAKAHATA 高畑・T・タカミチ
Takahata was not one of the original members of Nagi's group as he actually joins after they became famous. Due to his membership in Nagi's group, Takahata is extremely famous and respected among the Magic community. He is also noted among the Mahora student body for his ability to put a stop to any fight seemingly without lifting a finger (see his iaiken technique), earning him the nickname "Death Glasses Takahata". He and Shizuna have been suspected of dating, but it was found that his heart does not belong to any person as of yet. He was shown along with Gandofini and Seruhiko after Negi had been arrested. Gandofini seemed to assign Takahata to punish Negi by turning him into an ermine. However, when they were alone, Takahata told Negi that he believed in him, and entrusted him that after being rescued by his companions, they would go back in time to stop Chao. During the third day of the school festival, he fought against Chao Lingshen by himself and was managing to hold his own until she used her time displacement and hit him with a couple of her special bullets sending him 3 hours into the future.
He reappears in chapter 273 to help Negi fight Kurt Godel and taunts kurt because he got showed up by kids. Later, he along with kurt who he fought into submission contact negi and ask for ala alba's help in dealing with the crisis of the magical world. He convices kurt to believe in negi and his friends as they charge into gravekeeper's palace. He begins to eliminate demons quickly and by himself until more backup arrives so he can head into gravekeeper's palace and aid negi.
He later appears with Kurt to aid to fight when Evangeline and others show up in the magic world to help negi after his battle with fate.
Abilities
In order to make up to his inability to perform incantations, Takahata is trained in special fighting styles taught to him by one of Nagi's comrade, Gato Kagura Vandenburg, which he regards as his master.
Kankaho- A technique that combines Eastern ki and Western magic. Takahata uses his right arm to concentrate ki and his left arm for magic power. Certainly, one to two meters is required to gain initial speed. Along with the huge attacks, Takahata is left wide open and his preparations turns sluggish. Yet, when used with Takahata's invisible punches, these weaknesses are eliminated.
Iaiken- Bare fist version of iaido (iai pulling of the sword). Takahata uses his pockets in replacement for scabbard (apparently the reason why he has his hands inside his pocket at stance), and carries out punches faster than the eye can see. The downside is Takahata can't use punches in close combat. Using barrages of iaiken at long range, he can compensate for the weaknesses of his fighting style.
Muonken (Silent Fist): First used in chapter 273.
Shichijou Taisou: Seven Streak Great Lance Silent Fist , First used in chapter 305.
Senjou Senzoku: Thousand Streak Glearring Arrows Silent Fist , First used in chaper 305.
TAKAMICHI In Other Media
Negima!?
Unlike his manga counterpart, Takahata-sensei does have magical abilities in this series and is seen as the main assistant for Negi. However, he is usually seen on the sidelines alongside Evangeline and Chachamaru, particularly either in drinking tea or eating ramen.
SHIZUNA MINAMOTO 源 しずな
Mahora's guidance counselor and nurse. She is also Negi's advisor while he's teaching at Mahora, which slowly leads him into different aspects about his job. She is also Negi's motherly figure while he is at Mahora.
Part In The Story
Shizuna doesn't have that large of role in the series. Negi is in the office and when the Headmaster tells Negi to do his best Negi says he will and turns around to go off to his class, but ends up headfirst inbetween Shizuna's large breasts. Shizuna doesn't seem to care and the Headmaster introduces her saying she will be Negi's advisor. Shizuna is the one to give Negi the class roster. She also gives Negi his challenge from the Headmaster, to make sure 2A does not come in last place during the 2nd Term Exam. Kyoto Arc she is one of the teachers who go to Kyoto with the other teachers and the students. At the end of the Kyoto Arc she sees Negi leaning on Asuna's shoulder while they both are asleep and comments that Negi and Asuna are," A Cute Couple". Later in the Mahora Festival Arc She is having coffee with Takahata when Asuna sees them and thinking that they are dating runs off crying. In the middle of the Mahora Festival Arc and the Magic World Arc Shizuna, Negi, Anya, Asuna, and some of the other students of Class 3/A are at a swimming pool. Negi accidently runs into her breasts in the swimming pool again, but she just laughs it off. Anya sees this and gets jealous so she causes hers and Nodoka's breasts to grow larger until they blow up.
Much later, Asuna makes a comment to Takahata that she will, 100 years from now, get her hands on his grandson and that he better get married and that she "won't let you(Takahata) let Shizuna-Sensei get away." This could mean that either she still believes the two of them are an item or she knows the truth. Takahata does not deny this.
OTHER STUDENTS
INUGAMI KOTAROU 犬上 小太郎
A fictional character from the manga series Negima!: Magister Negi Magi, created by Ken Akamatsu. He is a half-demon first seen as one of the three mercenary children helping Chigusa in Kyoto. While he is also the only supporting character who does not appear in either of the first two anime series, he does however appear in the OVAs Mahō Sensei Negima! : Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba and Mō Hitotsu no Sekai Another World.
Background & Personality
Kotaro is a wolf Hanyō, evidenced by his pointed ears and furry tail. Despite being hotheaded, Kotaro is a chivalrous person and would never hit a woman unless she was a truly powerful fighter - and even then is so uncomfortable about the idea he never uses his full strength. He has a strong dislike of Western-style magic, with Negi being one of the few exceptions.
Kotaro has a very lonely past, because being a hanyō has made him, from birth, an outcast of both human and dog-yōkai tribes. This makes him value both his friendship with Negi, and living with Chizuru and Natsumi, as they become the only true friends or family he's ever had.
Though he is clearly not very "book smart" (unlike Negi) he is quite "street smart" and often understands/catches on to the things that Negi does not.
In Chapter 261 it's been revealed that after his match with Rakan he has an interest in becoming a Magister Magi.
Synopsis
He was used by Chigusa to try to prevent Negi and Asuna from delivering a letter to the head of the Kansai Magic Association. To do this, he trapped Negi and Asuna inside a dimensional loop, but was defeated by Negi, with unexpected help from Nodoka, who had followed Negi and, via her Pactio item, found out about the fight between the two, and was trapped in his own loop. That night, he intercepted Negi again as he tried to stop Chigusa's summoning ritual, demanding a rematch. This was interrupted by Kaede, who fought and defeated Kotaro while Negi continued on (although Kaede realized that Kotaro wasn't giving his best then).
After the Kyoto Arc, he was placed under the custody of the Kansai Magic Association, where his abilities to transform and summon dog spirits were sealed. During this time, Fate approached him again, offering to free Kotaro if he would assasinate Negi. Kotaro refused, and later escaped on his own to find Negi to have another rematch (he considered Negi a rival, being the only person he's met of his own age who can fight with him on even terms). When he arrived at Mahora, he ran into Graf Hermann and The Slime Sisters, and learned their plan to attack Negi. He fought them, stole the bottle that Graf Hermann had been released from, and escaped. However, in an attempt to warn Negi, he was injured and hit with a confusion spell, causing temporarily amnesia. Chizuru Naba and Natsumi Murakami, two of Negi's students, found him and nursed him back to health, thinking he was just a stray dog.
Graf Hermann tracked Kotaro to their dorm room, and attacked him in an attempt to retrieve the bottle, kidnapping Chizuru after she saved Kotaro from being petrified. Kotaro joined Negi in defeating Graf Hermann in order to rescue her and the other girls taken by the demon. For helping Negi battle against Graf Hermann and the Slime Sisters, he was pardoned and his powers restored. Kotaro decided to transfer to the Elementary school at Mahora Academy in order to hang around with Negi, whom he had befriended after the battle, and Kaede. He currently lives with Chizuru, Natsumi, and Ayaka Yukihiro in their dorm room, at the former's insistence, under the identity of Kotarō Murakami, Natsumi's younger brother.
Chizuru's maternal attitude to Kotaro (such as her hugging him to her well-endowed chest in public) frequently embarrasses him. He also regularly chastises Negi for being "involved" with so many girls, only to have his relationship with Chizuru thrown in his face (it's a little unclear whether this is because he has a crush on her or whether it's just simple embarrassment). While Kotaro likes to think of himself as a "lone wolf", Negi teased him by saying "You're more like a dog." His views also seem to draw him into arguments with Yue, which he usually loses. He also holds Kaede in high regard, due to her strength. Though since he refuses to use his full strength against women, it is unknown who is the stronger fighter
At the Mahora Legendary Martial Arts Tournament he quickly defeated Mei Sakura in the first round, but was annihilated in the second by Albireo. This lopsided defeat causes him to question his ability as a warrior, and he fears that Negi will no longer acknowledge him. Kaede approaches him and offers him to train with her after everything has settled, and he awkwardly makes up with Negi in succeeding chapters. He spends a little time with Negi, Chisame, and Chachamaru when Negi goes to see Ako and the Cheerleaders' concert, and in the process learns a little more about how to treat girls than he ever wanted to. He seems to be somewhat over-protective of Natsumi.
Like Negi, Kotaro has a somewhat limited view about the world in general, and he is more or less ignorant when it comes to the emotions of girls, although when artificially aged into a handsome teenager, he seems pleased when one of them finds him attractive. His stance on becoming the strongest only in combat leaves him unprepared for things that do not involve fighting.
Kotaro did not appear after Chao had succeeded in revealing magic to the world. After the time jump back to the final day of the festival, Kotaro appeared to help Negi while fighting his way to Chao's airship. After the festival, he was brought in by Evangeline as a sparring partner for Negi's next level of training. He accompanies Negi overseas to search for his father. He was temporarily knocked out by one of Fate's accomplices in the attack on the gateway, but was revived by Anya, and quickly rejoined the fight. After the destruction of the portal platform, he was transported to a jungle far from the gateport, but managed to find Negi, Chisame, and Chachamaru again on his own. After helping Negi get over a fever, he and the group must evade bounty hunters who are after them under a false charge of destroying the Gateport.
To avoid recognition, he and Negi use the Red Age Deceiving Pills to assume their teenage forms again. He has recently discovered that his "sister" Natsumi is lost in the Magic World as well, and he and Negi enter a tournament in order to save her, Ako, and Akira from slavery. He does not join Negi on his journey to Rakan preferring instead to become stronger through tournament battles. Later he has rejoined Negi at the grand tournament at Ostia. When Fate confronted Negi Kotaro rushed off to help. Chisame, Nodoka and Haruna have gotten themselves in trouble with one of Fate's companions and Kotarou arrives in time for the rescue. He then brings Nodoka to the site of Negi and Fate's confrontation so that way she can use her abilities to find out Fate's real name. During the confrontation, Kotaro was partially petrified as he protected Nodoka from Fate's attacks. However, he was easily healed by Konoka after she and Rakan arrived at the scene.
He started to traning with Negi with the help of Theodora, Seras, Ricardo and "the fake" Eva to beat Rakan in the tournament. He has also made a pactio with Natsumi under Haruna's persuasion, despite originally thinking the idea was "creepy." There was reluctance from both parties, but when Kotaro admitted he loved Natsumi, the two finally become partners. Natsumi admitted she had feelings for Kotarou as well, but she ran away before he could understand what she said. When Fate attacked the Governor's Ball, he and Natsumi witness the death of Chief, who watched over Natsumi, Ako, and Akira while they were slaves.
Kotaro, along with Natsumi, Yue, and others, are on a mission to rescue Anya and Asuna from the Gravekeeper's palace. When they encounter Fate, Kotaro believes he has the opportunity to finally defeat him out of revenge. However, Kotarou realizes the power difference between Fate and him, and decides not to attack -- believing that provoking Fate would only result in a quick death. When negi gets taken over by the darkness and is unable to move as well as turn to stone as a result everyone else comes up with a new plan to take out fate and get asuna back. This plan somewhat succeds as they did get asuna back even if only temporairly and fate seemed to have been defeated by chachamaru's artifact but survived the attack and quickly attacked them. Kotaro battled fate as a means of stalling and allowing the others to escape but was defeated. He was found by Kaede later. After saving the world they went back to Mahora. The trio went on a date with the cheerleader from class 2A ,after they met. They went to the karaoke place to sing. While everyone was having a good time mean while Madoka went to the bathroom, she was thinking how Kotaro was still acting like a child. She bumps into two thugs in the hallway ,after that Kotaro rescues her from the thugs, and she realizes she has fallen in love with Kotaro.
Powers & Abilities
Kotaro is trained under the Garyū Inugami-ryū which is basically a self-taught school. Kotaro is an expert in ninjutsu and charms, and has the power to summon wolf/inugami (dog spirits), which he can use as a ranged attack, to restrain foes, or to fly by forming them into wheels on his feet. But he must be careful as to use them, as sometimes they may come back right back at himself rather than his target. He prefers to fight hand to hand rather than using magic from a distance. Kotaro also has the ability to transform into a small black and white dog using a paper charm, or to a stronger part/half/full beast form. He claim that most of his fighting technique (including the use of ki power) was made up by himself. His capability to correctly analyze Negi's technique supports his ability to achieve such a task. He can transform into a Humaniod Beast Form and a full beast form in which he takes the apperance of a black wolf, which he calls "Kuon Eisou" which isn't any actual words but is made of the kanji for "dog", "sound","shadow" and "attire". He also has limited powers of shadows as he was able to move between shadows to save Haruna, Nodaka and Chisame and escape with them as shown in chapter 227. The kani for Kuon Eisou also reflect Kotaro's powers. His powers limited power of shadows. His use of dog spirts and beast powers. The power to release shockwaves from his first as well as from just yelling and his transformation powers.
Techniques
Instant Movement
Kage Bushin: A technique taught to him by Kaede it allows him to make multiple shadow clones of himself.
Howling Burst Knuckle- Kotaro focuses a massive amount of his dog spirts into his hand to release a highly destructive burst-like punch. This technique is able to rival Negi's Oukahouken and Raika Houken.
Black Wolf Rapid Air Fang- Kotaro fires a large amount of power dog spirts off at high speed to attack his enemies.
Transformations
Dog Tribe Beast Transformation: In this Form he involkes his beast powers. Though still looking human he gains a beast like apperance. All of his abilities are greatly increased while in this form.
Partial Body Transformation: Kotaro can transform parts of his part into beast form. He usually does this for his hands to increase their power.
Kuon Eisou: Quite possibly Kotaro's strongest form. In this form he comply transforms into a beast, fully transforming into a black wolf.
Relationships
Negi Springfield: Kotaro and Negi are rivals, but also best of friends. Kotaro was originally an enemy of Negi in the Kyoto Arc, where he appeared as a mercenary responsible for disrupting Negi's mission. After his defeat, he is imprisoned, but eventually escapes to Mahora Academy to warn Negi of an impending attack. After fighting alongside Negi against Graf Hermann, he decides to stay at Mahora and has been friends with Negi ever since. Kotaro's street smarts are a perfect balance to Negi's intellect, and he's not afraid to call out Negi on his brooding or negative feelings. When in his dream world from the Magic Lantern Circus, his dream world has him locked in combat with Negi. The two are constant tag team partners, fighting together in both the Mahora Festival and Ostia Festival tournaments. However, Kotaro appears jealous of Negi's rapid power development. Kotarou himself admitted to Kaede during the Mahora Festival is afraid that if he is too weak, Negi would no longer like him.
Fate Averruncus: Fate was originally Kotaro's partner during the Kyoto arc. Chapter 303 reveals that when Kotarou was imprisoned after the events in Kyoto, Fate was willing to release him if he assassinated Negi. Kotaro refused, but escaped anyway in order to warn Negi. He still holds a grudge against Fate, but realizes he is no match for his power.
Natsumi Murakami: Natsumi originally met a wounded Kotaro when he first came to Mahora, when he was initially disguised as a dog. They got off to a rough start (Kotaro attempted to hold Natsumi hostage) but Chizuru forced Natsumi to pretend Kotaro is her brother, so their other roommate, Ayaka Yukihiro, would not get suspicious. Natsumi eventually develops feelings for Kotaro, although she is reluctant to admit it. She follows Kotaro to the magic world because she is worried, eventually learning about magic and pactios. She is constantly confused about her feelings for Kotaro, since he alternates between his child form and disguise form -- a handsome teenager. Kotaro eventually realizes Natsumi's feelings for him, as well as his own affection towards Natsumi as family, and the two form a pactio together. Recently, Kotaro proposed that Natsumi should accompany him on mercenary missions, since her artifact is ideal for stealth. They end up getting married at the future-based conclusion of the series.
Chizuru Naba: One of Kotaro's other roommates. Kotaro originally was defiant against Chizuru, but she threatened him into obeying, eventually forcing him to assume the role of Natsumi's brother. A recurring gag is that Chizuru wants to shove a leek up Kotaro's anus, a folk remedy for curing colds. Chizuru appears to frighten Kotaro, although his reluctance to talk about Chizuru is misinterpreted as a sign of love, not fear. Despite her overbearing traits, Chizuru's nurturing personality makes her a mother figure to Kotaro, and two appear to have a familial bond.
Kaede Nagase: After Kotaro's embarrassing loss to Albireo Imma, Kotaro becomes upset over his lack of power. Out of sympathy, Kaede offers to train Kotaro. As a result, Kotaro has developed a student-teacher relationship with her, and is seen using ninja techniques like shadow cloning that she had taught him. Kotaro has great respect for his master, even offering to dance with her at the Governor's Ball during the Magic World arc. However, their relationship appears to be strictly platonic, and no romantic feelings are apparent.
Yue Ayase: Although she and Kotaro have a bit of a rivalry (during the Mahora festival, Yue intimidates Kotarou with her intellect), Kotaro appears to have respect for her -- especially during the Magic World Arc, which showcases Yue's great development in skill.
Mei Sakura: Mei and Kotaro originally fought against each other in the first round of the Mahora tournament. Despite Kotaro's vow to not hit women, Kotaro was able to defeat her with some creativity. Ever since her defeat, Mei appears to idolize Kotaro to a certain degree, and is eager to bring up her training and improvement to him. During the Magic World arc, Mei has a similar respect for "Kojiro", Kotaro's teenage alter-ego, even asking for his autograph, though she is aware that Kojiro and Kotaro are indeed the same person. Natsumi is quick to notice Mei's possible crush on Kotaro.
TAKANE D.GOODMAN 高音・D・グッドマン
High-school student and secret mage orignally from the Magic World who is studying abroad at the St. Ursula High School section of Mahora. Her magical affinity is shadows, and she can summon and direct shadow warriors, as well as create highly elaborate shadow armor. Her clothes have a nasty habit of suffering wardrobe malfunctions in combat (although part of it is due to her taking off her regular clothes when wearing shadow armor, as the armor would increase a person's defense capabilities sevenfold if nothing is worn over it). She, Mei and Gandolfini tried to arrest Chao before the festival but released her on behalf of Negi.
During the first day of the Festival, she and Mei attempted to stop Negi after Nodoka's request for a deep kiss resulted in him falling under the spell of the World Tree. However, they were thwarted by Negi, who delivered to them the first of their many strippings. She develops Tanaka-phobia due to her match with Tanaka-san, which led to an aforementioned blowing-off of clothing in front of thousands of people. She later loses to Negi in the tournament, and helps Asuna in an attempt to rescue Takamichi, both resulting in more unwanted nudity. In Chao's future, she is part of the force that is assigned to arrest Negi and his companions, after magic is revealed to the world.
However, when she encounters Asuna's magical cancellation ability and her Pactio artifact, she is once again stripped bare. Back in the present, She takes part in the battle against Chao's robot forces, as a "Hero Unit" (similar to those found in Real Time Strategy games) assisting the civilian "players" in holding the line. Despite the large amount of clothes-stripping beams in use by the robots, she manages to stay dressed for the duration of the battle and is one of the "Hero Units" to avoid being sent three hours into the future.
During the summer break, Takane, along with Mei, Misora, and Cocone, were visiting the Magic World around the time of the gatepost attacks and ended up getting stuck in the Magic World as well. She and the rest of girls that she was travelling with eventually meets up with some of students that accompanied Negi into the Magic World during the final match of the Ostia tournament, although they really get involved in assisting Negi's crew until the attack by Fate's minions at Godel's party, as they assisted in fighting the demon's and helping Asuna and Yue make their way to Haruna's ship.
Due to her experience with magic, Takane has also become aware of some of the various people who are connected to it. Hence, she and Mei provide Negi and Asuna some exposition about Takahata's life before becoming a teacher at Mahora, and she was also the one to inform Yuna the truth about her parents actually being mages. She joined with Ala Alba in the battle to save the magical world. She watched Negi and Fate battle as well as helped battle Shirabe.
Later, after Ala Alba returned from the magical world, she challenges Negi to a 'final battle' to make up for all the defeats he handed her. Once defeated, she bluntly asked Negi 'Why didn't you strip me?', apparently seeing it as his way of humiliating her. It seems she also has something of a crush on Negi, as just before their final bout, she declares that if she wins, he has to go out with her.
Abilities
Takane is an experienced mage, evident when she brought herself to the preliminaries of the martial arts tournament during the Mahora Festival. She also aided Negi in the ariel fight after Chao Lingshen was about to reveal magic top the world.
Shadow Magic- Her magical affinity is shadows, and she can summon and direct shadow warriors, as well as create elaborate shadow armors. These armors can increase the user's defense capabilities at least threefold, with it reaching up to sevenfold when not wearing any other clothes over them.
MEI SAKURA 佐倉愛衣
Kohai to her senpai, Takane whom she refers to as 'onee-sama'. She is deemed as a skilled Ministra Magi whose artifact is a broomstick. Mei is also a transfer student, sent to study from a North American mage academy before the Mahora Festival Arc.
Part In The Story
Mahora Festival arc On the night before the festival, Mei, Takane and Gandolfini made up the group that arrested Chao, but released her on behalf of Negi. During the first day of the festival, she and Takane, realizing that Nodoka was at a high risk of doing something that would activate the World Tree's magic, tried to intervene during her date with Negi. Unfortunately, Negi came to Nodoka's aide, and as a result, Nodoka ended up trigger the World Tree's magic to turn Negi in a "Kiss Terminator" obsessed with giving her a deep kiss. When Mei and Takane tried to subdue Negi, he ended up giving them the first of many strippings.
On the second day of the festival, she took part in the Mahora Tournament, where she was swiftly defeated in one hit by Kotarou. Later on, after Takane and Asuna were also eliminated from the tournament, she and the other two noticed Misora and Cocone sneaking around and, upon realizing that they're there to investigate on Chao's plan, joined them in exploring the underground of Mahora.
In the timeline where Chao was successful in revealing magic to the public, the press constantly hounded Mei in the aftermath. She, along with Megumi, assist Takane in their mission to arrest Negi's group when they try to find a way to rescue Negi and return to the third day of the festival. While Mei's artifact was able to nullify the abilities of some of Negi's Ministra Magi, Asuna's "magic cancel" ability and Ku Fei's martial arts training resulted in Mei's group getting defeated and stripped bare. After Mei's group comes to (and given the Library Club's tour blazers as cover for their body), Nodoka used her Pactio artifact on Mei to find out where Negi has been held, and Asuna comforts Mei by promising her that they will return the world back to normal.
After Negi and his returned to the third day of the festival, Mei was shown along with Takane entering in the battle against Chao's robot army.
Ostia Festival During the upcoming of the Ostia Festival, Mei learned about Ala Alba in the magical world when she watched a news report. She was in a vacation with Takane, Misora and Cocone.
Cosmo Entelecheia arc Mei aided Ala Alba in rescuing Anya, Asuna and the world during Fate's attempt of rewriting the magical world.
Abilities
Mei seems to have an elemental magic affinity for fire and is shown to be proficient enough to disarm Kaede and Setsuna at battle. Although in most fights, her true strengths were not demonstrated.
Pactio: Broom Girl. Her pactio artifact, the Liking to Cleaning, お掃除大好き, is a broom that she uses for combat as well as transportation, just as how Negi's does with his staff. It may be similar to the broom that Yue has. One possible power of the broom is to completely to disarm opponents with a stroke, but it is uncertain whether this is due to the broom, or Mei's own magical prowess.
MEGUMI NATSUME 夏目萌
A Dark-haired, glasses-wearing girl who is a magic student from the Mahora Elementary School. Nutmeg carries a short staff and primarily uses water magic, and is part of a Mahou Shojo team with Mei and Takane. She made her first major appearance with Takane and Mei as they tried to capture Asuna and Negi's other partners in the future, but was defeated by Negi's partners with the usual unfortunate results for a fight involving Takane. Back in the present, Nutmeg is helping monitor and coordinate forces in the battle against Chao's army.
COCONE FATIMA ROSA ココネ
A young magician who tags along with Misora. A resident of Magic World who's studying abroad at Mahora, she specializes in telepathy, and is much better at drawing than Misora. She is also a brilliant archer and athlete. In chapter 300, she is seen accompanied with the title "Empire Immigration Plan Test Subject #18", hinting that at least one empire (possibly Hellas) is well aware of the impending collapse of the Magic World, with Cocone being a "not-pure" human sent to Earth in order to test out a possible plan to immigrate all the residents of the the empire onto Earth before the Magic World is destroyed.
EIKO 英子
A high-school ace and the leader of the Black Lilies, the championship dodge ball team of St. Ursula High. She teases Negi on the train when he first arrives at Mahora. Later she and her friends had a dodge ball match with Negi's class which decided who would have Negi as their teacher. She and her two friends, Bibi and Shii, make several cameo appearances afterwards. In the most recent chapter, she takes part in the so-called Third Day Festival Games, and is one of the first few casualties when she is stripped of her clothes.
NAOYA
A male high school student that also studies within Mahora and is a member of a dodge ball team as well. Has deep feelings for Eiko, his senpai, but was kept from confessing them during the Festival arc by Mana, who shot him in the head with a tranquilizer bullet. In recent rabu-kome chapters, it is explained that Naoya likes Eiko's competitiveness.
KAORU GOTOKUJI 豪徳寺 薫
Pompadoured fight-enthusiast and color commentator at the Festival arc tournament. A skilled fighter in his own right, Kaoru is trained under the art of "Kenka Sappo" (which translates to Brawl Skill) of which he is a self-proclaimed 30-dan in rank, and is also an able ki-user. Negi eliminated Kaoru in the elimination matches of the Legendary Mahora Martial Arts Tournament. Despite his rough and somewhat ridiculous appearance, Kaoru is a nice person (who whole-heartedly admitted his loss to Negi and even encouraged him to go for it and offered him gum). He seems to have a rather extensive knowledge of various forms of martial arts (for instance, as the explainer for the Mahora tournament, he is able to identify most of the techniques used, like Mana's Rakansen and Takamichi's Iaiken techniques). He placed an impressive seventh in the Mage-vs-Martians battle, but only won a mere 40 meal tickets.
KEIICHI YAMASHITA 山下 慶一
A fighter trained under the art of "3-D jujutsu.” Evangeline beat him in a split second in the first round of the Legendary Mahora Martials Arts Tournament. He is named after one of Akamatsu's assistants.
TATSUYA NAKAMURA 中村 達也
A hotheaded fighter who specializes in ki projectiles, but has a glaring weakness in his lack of close quarter combat skill. Kaede beat him in the first round of the Legendary Mahora Martials Arts Tournament. He apparently knows the Kamehameha.
POCHI DAIGOIN 大豪院 ポチ
A fighter seemingly skilled in Chinese martial arts. Not much is known about him as he was completely outclassed by Albireo Imma in the first round of the Legendary Mahora Martials Arts Tournament.
HARUKI & YUKI
A boy and girl who attend Mahora Elementary. Yuki has a crush on Haruki, and was nearly shot by Mana for trying to confess her feelings to at the wrong place. She was saved by Negi, who blew her hat off with a gust of wind, causing them to chase it far away from the danger zone, where she could then tell him without triggering a geas from the World Tree. They later appear after being drafted into a "best couples" contest, alongside Eiko and Naoya, and Ako and Negi (using an age-deceiving pill and posing as his own cousin), who also was drafted. They ended up winning the contest, despite not being sure that they were actually a couple.
On the third day of the Festival, both are stripped down to their underwear as a result of being hit by Chao's robot beams. Yuki and Eiko (who was also caught in the attack) promptly punch out their "boyfriends", telling them to look away.
CAPTAIN SERIZAWA 芹沢
The leader of the Mahora Biathlon team. Mana has a crush on him, and he seems to share the feeling. Unfortunately, he chose to tell her during the school festival while she and Negi were watching out for confessions, and was shot by Mana to stop him from saying anything. It was then revealed by Chamo that the person in Mana's locket and the one she shot were different people, only having similar looks.
CAPTAIN NANAKA AIRHEART
The head of the Mahora University's Aviation Club. She pilots a biplane and leads the team responsible for the aerial acrobatics presentation of the Mahora Festival. She is also the person who is able to confirm the whereabouts of Chao Lingshen (atop the airship that roams the skies of Mahora City during the festival) during the Mahora Festival's Final Day Event. Her surname likely comes from that of the American aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart.
